Is Christianity Still Relevant in 2026? | Chasing Assurance #64

Episode Summary

The world has changed dramatically. Technology has changed. Communication has changed. Culture has changed. But does that mean Christianity has become outdated? In Episode #64 of the Chasing Assurance Podcast, Terry Peer and Dr. Terry L. Peer continue their discussion about the foundations of the Christian faith by asking an important question: Is Christianity still relevant in 2026? Study Guide: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/rbc0qlbmt69eu0p6cq5hz/Study-Guide-Chasing-Assurance-64.pdf?rlkey=dqokwouk2uw6z7a7l3wr7r1k0&dl=0 Nearly 2,000 years separate us from the earthly ministry, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. For some people, that distance makes Christianity feel ancient — perhaps even disconnected from modern life. But being ancient doesn't make something irrelevant. Dr. Peer explains why authentic Christianity remains just as relevant today and focuses on four foundational truths: God is still God and is still seated on His throne. The Bible is still ultimate truth and addresses humanity's deepest needs. Sin is still sin, and the needs of human nature are still the same. The Gospel is still God's answer for forgiveness, restoration and peace. Terry also discusses the pressure churches face to constantly change in an effort to remain culturally relevant — and the danger of changing the foundation while trying to change the presentation.
